In the Regular Session of 2019, the Mississippi legislature passed the Children’s Promise Act, which establishes income tax credits for individuals and businesses who contribute to certain charitable organizations. The credits will be equal to the amount contributed by the business or individual and will allow for a 5-year carryforward for any unused credits.

The State has allocated $5 million a year for contributions from businesses to ECOs and $3 million a year for contributions from individuals to QCOs.
These credits are being allocated on a first come, first served basis, and they will not last long.
