The IRS, Department of Labor, and Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation jointly developed the Form 5500-series returns for employee benefit plans to satisfy annual reporting requirements under ERISA and the Internal Revenue Code.* |
The Form 5500 series must be filed electronically using the EFAST2 system at www.efast.dol.gov and are filed by the plan sponsor.* |
The Form 5500 series must be filed by the last day of the seventh month after the plan year ends (July 31st for a calendar-year plan).* |
If you filed an extension or one was filed on your behalf, you may receive a notice regarding Form 5558, the application used for filing an extension." |
